Pres. Joe Biden Creates a Team That Will Travel To U.S. Borders to Gather Reports on Migrant Children
U.S. President Joe Biden will send a team composed of his senior members to borders as a preemptive measure in the issue of escalating migrant children from nearby countries as asylum seekers. Fox News reported that the team Biden established will be visiting the Southern borders of the United States. He required this team to report to him the situation and advise how the arrival of the migrant children should be handled.
US First News mentioned a spokesman from the White House, saying that the team will also assess and discover any additional SOPs and steps to be taken to assure the safety and care of the children when they are being admitted in the country.

Fox News noted that the White House spokesperson also confirmed with them that the visitation time and date will be private for the safety and security of the team that will lead the investigation and assessment on the borders. However, the spokesperson added that there will be an official address once the trip or visit has concluded.
The Biden administration had received backlash about how they treat migrant children when they announced that a facility in Texas will be used as the children's detention center. The issue gained an uproar and fractioned opinions from the masses. According to US First News, this issue was compared to the way how the Trump administration put the kids in detention, which was denounced by the current president.
U.S. News and World Report added that the current administration who is in the office is facing criticism from Democrats and activists as they point out unaccompanied migrant children and families are taking so much time in the facilities or detention centers instead of being released while waiting for the approval of their asylum application.
Biden administration and Surge on migrant children
With the reformation of the Immigrant policies with the help of ICE, Axios shared that there is a significant increase in the arrival of migrant children, which is evident in the documents from the Department of Health and Human Services. According to the documents, number of migrant children crossing the border is stretching the resources of the current administration, which is intended to be spent on immigrant issues. The documents also showed that an average of 321 migrant children per day is referred by the Border Patrol to the Health and Human Services.
On the other hand, Fox News noted that the family detention centers situated in Texas will be reassigned to be the rapid-processing hubs and the Homeland Security Department will screen families in the United States in about 72 hours.
