SNAP Benefits 2022 Update: $66 Million Extra Food Payments Confirmed in Oregon
SNAP Benefits 2022 in Oregon will be continued, with residents receiving emergency allotments in June.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will provide around 411,000 SNAP households with around $66 million in extra food benefits on top of their regular SNAP benefits.
KTVZ News reported that Deputy Director of the Oregon Department of Human Services Claire Seguin said that they know many rely on the additional food benefits to get enough healthy food for themselves and their families. Seguin added that they are aware that Oregonians are still struggling to meet their basic needs and encourage people to contact their partners at 211 and the Oregon Food Bank for support during the difficult time.
SNAP Benefits 2022 recipients will receive emergency allotments on June 11. Emergency allotments will be issued on June 30 or July 2 for households who did not receive benefits in the first monthly issuance.
Questions regarding the SNAP benefits should be directed to the ONE Customer Service Center at 1-800-699-9075.
Household income and number changes could affect your SNAP benefits. It is important to ensure that ODHS has the most up-to-date information.
Eligible recipients can report the changes in their income or household online at ONE.Oregon.gov and via mail at ONE Customer Service Center, PO Box 14015, Salem, OR 97309.
The Chronicle Online noted that recipients can also report changes by fax at 503-378-5628 or by phone at 1-800-699-9075 or TTY 711.

Oregon residents can apply by contacting a local office. Families and single adults without a disability are urged to contact a local Self-Sufficiency office. Meanwhile, seniors and people living with disabilities can contact a local Aging and People with Disabilities office, according to the Oregon government's website.
Residents can find out if they are eligible for SNAP benefits by contacting 211info. Seniors and people living with disabilities can contact the Oregon ADRC or call 1-855-ORE-ADRC (1-855-673-2372).
People can also check their eligibility online by visiting the ADRC website.
College students aged 18 to 49 attending school at least half-time may also be qualified for SNAP by meeting income guidelines and additional criteria.
SNAP benefits are issued on an Electronic Benefits Transfer card, which is also called an Oregon Trail Card.
It can also be used like a debit card to buy food anywhere EBT is accepted.

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities noted that to be eligible for benefits, income and resources are looked at through three tests such as gross monthly income, net income, and assets.
All people without documented immigration status, some students attending college more than half time, and individuals on strike are not eligible for SNAP benefits.
