Hey, "The Fault in Our Stars" fans, another John Green book-to-film adaptation is on its way.

Green tweeted the announcement.

"So excited to announce that the brilliant filmmaker Sarah Polley will be writing and directing a film adaptation of Looking for Alaska."

Yes, you read correctly: Polley, star of independent films, including "Away from Her" and the zombie thriller "Dawn of the Dead," will be bringing Green's first published novel, "Looking for Alaska," to the big screen.

This book is a big deal for Green, Polley and the studio. Polley has had previous success with "Away from Her" and the documentary based on her family life, "Stories We Tell," the New York Daily News reported. Green is pleased Polley was chosen for the project.

"I'm a HUGE fan of Sarah's movies, and her ideas about Looking for Alaska are really wonderful, and I am SO VERY EXCITED," he said via Twitter.

"Looking for Alaska" is Green's debut novel, so the book and its film rights have been in stasis for a while. With the success of the "The Fault in Our Stars" movie, making $48 million in theaters, however, production has gone from red light to green light.

In 2005, Paramount optioned the book, and under that studio, "Gossip Girl" creator Josh Schwartz was planned to both direct and write the film version of "Looking for Alaska," but according to Green's website, "there was no enthusiasm for that kind of movie at Paramount," the Daily News reported.

"Looking for Alaska" was published in 2005 and is about Miles, a young boy who has just started attending a boarding school. There, with his prank-obsessed friends, he meets a beautiful and somewhat disturbed girl named Alaska Young. Miles and his friends are captivated by her.

Both Green and Polley are hot these days, which should make them a good fit togeter. Polley has won praise and awards as an actress, director and screenwriter, Time reported, and Green appears to be on a winning novel streak.

"Looking for Alaska" is Green's third novel and will be his third book-to-film adaption.

Time and Entertainment Weekly report that Green's novel "Paper Towns," published in 2008, also has been green lighted, with Nat Wolff of "The Fault in Our Stars" scheduled to star. "Paper Towns" is expected to be adapted by the screenwriters and producers of "The Fault in Our Stars."
