The Juice is gone. OJ Simpson, NFL legend, actor, and alleged murderer who allegedly got away with killing his wife in the "Trial of the Century," has now passed away after losing his battle with cancer. He was 76.

The former NFL star's family announced his death on X, revealing that he died on Wednesday in Las Vegas after his battle with prostate cancer.

OJ was already a famous NFL star and also delved into Hollywood, with his star rising as an actor. However, everything changed during the infamous June 1994 knife slayings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman in Los Angeles.

His infamy only grew as he led police into a wild car chase on a Los Angeles freeway, where he was eventually arrested. He was soon acquitted of the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman because a glove allegedly used in the murder did not fit his hand. The public has since believed he was guilty, and this was proven as subsequent civil cases found him liable for their deaths, according to the Associated Press.

Ultimately, OJ Simpson was sentenced to nine years in prison on unrelated charges. However, his fall from grace, from one of the most celebrated black men in America to one of its most infamous killers, has captured the imagination of many.

Family, Lawyers of OJ Simpson's Victims React To His Death

Soon after OJ's passing, the lawyer for Nicole Brown Simpson's family during the "Trial of the Century," released a statement to TMZ, saying, "Simpson's death reminds us that the legal system even 30 years later is still failing battered women and that the power of celebrity men to avoid true justice for the harm that they inflict on their wives or significant others is still a major obstacle to the right of women to be free of the gender violence to which they are still subjected."

Goldman's father, Fred, and his sister, Kim, also released a statement but acknowledged that "the hope for true accountability has ended," adding, "The news of Ron's killer passing away is a mixed bag of complicated emotions and reminds us that the journey through grief is not linear."

"My heart goes out to the children of OJ Simpson and to the very brave family of Nicole Brown Simpson. The truth about OJ Simpson can never be erased and should never be forgotten. OJ Simpson is dead. May his victims finally rest in peace," she added.

Others React To OJ Simpson's Death

"The Juice" has become one of the most infamous people in US history, and his death did not elicit much sympathy from the public as Caitlyn Jenner tweeted out what the public may have been thinking at that time, "Good riddance."

Others, such as Michelle Maxwell, tweeted, "Seems Hell gained a new resident."

"OJ Simpson has died. In unrelated news the killer of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman has died," comedian Dan Regan chimed in.
