Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Review Roundup
Since 2012, the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4 has meant success for the company. And with the little tweaks \ on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, the company is set to offer a different kind of flavor to its fans: this time, more 'rugged.'
Two of the most important features of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active are its resistance to dust and waterproof casing. These two elements may not seem new, especially to owners of phones like the Xperia Z and Eluga dL1. But what makes it sound outstanding is its application to a leading smartphone.
It comes with a vibrant-looking screen with full HD resolution. It has a preinstalled Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with the promise of a 4.3 version upgrade. It has a quad-core 1.9GHz Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM. The rest of its features are comparable to the Galaxy S4 and only different when it comes to the cases. A good roundup of the best cases for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active can be found here if you want surefire protection for your gadget.
Reviews From A Couple Of Experts
Damien McFerran of Eurogamer.net finds the rugged design of the Galaxy S4 Active highly appealing even though it is still made of plastic, setting it apart from the usual cheap feel of the other Galaxy S4 models.
McFerran added that its performance is even better than Sony's Xperia Z and the HTC One. He recommends the S4 Active for those searching for a solid smartphone gadget with the added perks of an IP67 certification.
On another review note, Alastair Stevenson of The Inquirer describes the Samsung Galaxy S4 Activ as one of the best smartphone units produced by Samsung. The only negative side of his review dealt with its TouchWiz interface and he complains the Active's screen is not as good as the original S4.
But just like McFerran, he gives the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active a high score when it comes to design and performance.
