Black Eyed Peas member Fergie and husband Josh Duhamel welcomed their first child, Axl Jack Duhamel, on Thursday, August 29 in Los Angeles. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces.

The 38-year-old singer gave birth via C-section at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A., reports E! Online. Kim Kardashian gave birth in the same hospital when she had North West, and like Kardashian, Fergie also booked a VIP suite where she is now recovering from the surgery.

Fergie and Duhamel tied the knot in 2009 and were always vocal about parenthood ever since.

"I actually look forward to that. I plan on taking off as much time as I can just before and as much time as possible after. I can't imagine having a kid and then not being able to be there. That would just drive me crazy. My head would be at home with mom and baby," said Duhamel in a report by the Daily Mail.

The couple announced their pregnancy in February via an Instagram photo.

"Josh & Me & BABY makes three!!! #mylovelybabybump," captioned Fergie. The photo was a Photoshopped work of her childhood picture and Duhamel's, along with a cat which one can deduce as the "baby."

Both parents have been very excited about the pregnancy, especially Duhamel.

"Right now, we're just fascinated by the whole idea there's a baby growing inside of her," Duhamel told the L.A. Times during Fergie's pregnancy. "We're fascinated by every stage of its development at this point. We're already feeling a real connection to it. This is what I was meant to do, and we're both really, really excited about the whole thing."

Talking about Josh as a daddy, Fergie told E! Online:

"He's been amazing. He is so nice and wonderful. He sings and talks to my belly all the time. He's very complimentary. I'm very lucky that he's really good to me."

During her pregnancy, Fergie's food cravings reportedly included fruits like mangoes, papayas and "anything really juicy and sweet."
