Don't worry, Tekken and Street Fighter fans: The Namco Bandai crossover video game "Tekken X Street Fighter" is on its way.

On July 25 at San Diego Comic-Con, producer Katsuhiro Harada confirmed that "Tekken X Street Fighter" is still coming out and has not been shelved.

"It's still in development, and it is moving forward, but that's on the development side," Harada said via Michael Murphy, his translator and Tekken designer, according to GameSpot.

The highly anticipated game, which was announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2010, will apparently not drop until the timing is just right, however.

"So obviously, with all of the products, there's that special timing that we need for that to have its own spotlight," Harada explained via Murphy.

Still, Harada does not want gamers to fret. "Tekken X Street Fighter" is definitely happening despite obstacles.

"So on the marketing side, it's a special situation, but we can say that it hasn't been cancelled, so please relax," he said.

In February, VG24/7 reported that "Tekken X Street Fighter" was listed on Namco Bandai's 2014 release schedule but without a specific date.

Namco Bandai and Capcom announced their respective versions of the crossover game in 2010. In 2012, Capcom released its version, "Street Fighter X Tekken," Polygon reported.

In August 2013, Harada explained why news on Namco Bandai's game has been scarce.

"One of the reasons is 'Street Fighter X Tekken' was released," he told Siliconera. "That still had updates until recently. One interesting thing we've seen with that title when it came out was that it's not quite what we expected. It was not just 'Tekken' fans and 'Street Fighter' fans merging, there seems to be a whole new community growing around that title that wasn't playing either of the titles up until that point. That was very unexpected but quite cool. It's something we want to take care [of] and grow. Rather than throw out our title right away while those people are still interested in ['Street Fighter X Tekken'] we are looking for the right time because we are still developing ['Tekken X Street Fighter']."
