GTA 5 for PC, PS4 & Xbox One Price and Requirements: British Retailer Claims December Release Date for Grand Theft Auto V Games
A retailer has posted release dates for the highly anticipated Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto V.
The British page of retailer Coolshop has Grand Theft Auto V for PS4, Xbox One and PC available for pre-order on its site. According to the website, all three versions have an "expected release" of Dec. 31, 2014. Rockstar Games, however, has yet to announce a release date for these games beyond "this fall."
"We charge the money for the product when we ship it," the website says. "We usually ship the product so that it arrives on the day that the product is released."
The next-gen consoles games are priced at 52.96 euros ($90.49) each.
The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V are priced at 37.96 pounds ($64.86). Computer requirements are not provided on Coolshop's page.
Rockstar Games has not yet commented on the alleged release dates.
In June, Rockstar Games announced the release of Grand Theft Auto V for new systems at the E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The games can be pre-ordered from the game developer here. Each game is priced at $59.99.
"Grand Theft Auto V will take full advantage of the power of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail," the game developer announced via its Newswire page. "Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North's epic reimagining of Southern California."
According to John Koller, PlayStation's North American marketing vice president, those who opt for Grand Theft Auto V on PS4 will get a special deal.
"I don't think we announced anything publicly on that, but there will be," he told Kotaku in June. "GTA is a PlayStation franchise. It started with us. We really feel strongly that it belongs as a key platform driver for us."
