'Nuestra Belleza Latina' Recap & Outlook 2014: Auditions Coming Soon to Select Cities
The 2015 auditions for "Nuestra Belleza Latina" are coming soon.
Although Univision has not given out too many specifics about its reality competition show, it is trying to get people interested in the upcoming season.
Winner Aleyda Ortiz shot a video to get contestants excited.
"It was definitely a great university for me and my life," she said. "Don't limit your dreams."
Auditions will take place in Puerto Rico, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and New York next month. There will also be an option to audition online.
Osmel Sousa will be present at the auditions, so contestants should come prepared to show off their talent, Univision said.
"We are looking for beautiful, talented girls with personalities, and they should have the potential to win the crown and go into the entertainment industry," Univision said.
The announcement also explains how life-changing winning the crown can be.
She won $200,000 from the competition, and while on "El Gordo y La Flaca," she explained what she would do with the money.
"There is a part that I want to invest in my preparation to work in different mediums of communication," she said. "The other part I want to donate to the Kabbalah center because I practice the discipline. Kabbalah is something that has changed my life. I believe in it because of everything I have gotten out of it. Another part of the money will go to my family, who have many expenses."
Similarly, Alejandra Espinoza has explained how the show made her grow.
When she first started competing, people would write negative comments about her performance. She wasn't very outgoing and people thought she was stupid.
"I thought it would be a contest like any other," she said. "Before participating I worked at a fast food restaurant, so I was obviously not ready to be on television. In fact, I never bothered to take a communication seminar because before that I studied nursing, which is a completely different career. It was horrible: I did not know how to speak. I only said 'thanks,' and the people labeled me as dumb."
But eventually, she saw that she had an opportunity of a lifetime, and she worked to improve. Now, the beauty queen has established herself as a host.
