FX 'American Horror Story' Season 4 Cast and Premiere Date: World Record Holder Joins 'Freak Show' Cast, Director Talks Difficult Scene [Pic]
The "American Horror Story: Freak Show" cast has gotten larger thanks to a remarkably small new actor.
On Wednesday, Ryan Murphy, "American Horror Story" creator, announced a new cast member to Season 4.
"Jessica and our newest cast member Jyoti Amge...the world's smallest women," he said via Twitter with a photo of "American Horror Story" actors Jessica Lange and Amge.
According to E! News, the Limca Book of Records and the Guiness Book of Records recognizes the 20-year-old from India as the world's smallest woman at 2-foot-0.6.
Amge's character in "American Horror Story: Freak Show" has not yet been revealed.
Fans are preparing for "Freak Show" just as those behind "American Horror Story" are preparing for the Emmys (the show has 17 nominations for Season 3). Recently, Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, who directed many episodes from the season, "American Horror Story: Coven," revealed why he thinks the show is so alluring.
"There has never been anything like it on television," he said in an interview with TheWrap. "It's a hyper-real, cinematic experience showcasing some of our greatest living actors, writers and craftsmen working in the industry. You'll be hooked after one episode, even if you hate horror."
Creating a cinematic experience on TV is not always easy, however. Gomez-Rejon was reminded that while filming the season finale of "Coven," "The Seven Wonders."
"It was an impossible -- undoable -- schedule, resolving every storyline, with heavy VFX, stunts, etc, but we had a hard out at 4 a.m," he said.
"Hours later, actors would be on planes and sets would be taken down. I had two full crews going in adjoining soundstages. I'd run back and forth between them, setting up a shot here, shooting there, changing the cast on set and rushing them back to the other stage, and so on. We finally wrapped a few minutes shy of four thanks to the heroic work of every department, particularly my VFX supervisor, who was directing the 2nd unit."
"American Horror Story: Freak Show" premieres on FX on Oct. 8 at 10 pm. ET/PT, according to ComingSoon.net
