Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio has now played three full seasons in the NBA. His entrance into the league was halted because of his desire to play overseas, but the Spanish star has adapted very. Since his debut in 2011, Rubio has been one of the best pure passers in the game.

Rubio, born in El Masnou, Spain, has started 160 games in his three seasons with the Timberwolves, including all 82 games last season.

Rubio resembles former Utah Jazz great John Stockton, who was known for his precision passing, teamwork, and high-quantity steals every year. Last season, Rubio led the entire NBA with 190 steals last season, and he has some of highest assists numbers in the game. Over the course of his three year career, Rubio averages 8.1 assists per game.

Although Rubio is not a very talented scorer like Russell Westbrook or Derrick Rose, he is a more talented passer. Rubio's 703 assists last season were the second most in the NBA last season.

Most NBA fans would agree that Chris Paul is the best point guard in today's game. Others such as Tony Parker, Rajon Rondo, Kyrie Irving and others often mentioned among the best. So where does Rubio rank among current point guards?

Rubio is without a doubt a Top 10 point guard based on his talents, age, passing and health.

Westbrook has extreme potential, especially considering the fact that he plays with the best scorer in the league, Kevin Durant. The problem with Westbrook is he shoots far too often and hurts his team a lot come playoff time. Because of their hard attack, Westbrook and Rose are injured quite often.

You would be better off choosing Rubio.

Tony Parker is obviously one of the best point guards of the 21st century, but age is starting to catch up with him. The 32-year-old Parker also has far superior talent around him compared to Rubio. Damian Lillard is an underrated player, but defense still holds him back. There's no denying who the best perimeter shooting point guard is: Stephen Curry.

Rondo has faced many injuries the last three seasons, and he is a career 62 percent free throw shooter, which is atrocious for a point guard. Rubio makes more than 80 percent of his free throws.

When you factor in everything, Rubio is clearly a top 10 point guard in today's NBA. There's no doubt when compared to others, he will be a Top 5 point guard one day, if he's not already.

Despite only starting 160 games, Rubio is already ranked No. 4 all-time in career assists by a Spanish-born NBA player. Jose Calderon leads that exclusive category, and he's still going strong with the New York Knicks.
