NFL Team Football Schedule & Predictions 2014: 5 Teams Who Must Win Week 2 Games
The second week of the 2014 NFL season will begin Thursday Night with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens facing off.
Week 1 saw a lot of surprises, upsets, disappointments and great games. That being said, there are many teams that are facing a "must-win" game coming into Week 2.
Here are five teams that are under the most pressure to win their second game:
1. Green Bay Packers
There's no shame in losing to the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks at Century Link Field -- even if the score was 36-16.
The Packers will take on the New York Jets during Week 2 at home at Lambeau Field. The Packers have to win this game against Geno Smith and Gang Green.
Rex Ryan has a good defensive unit, but the Packers should be able to take care of business. As good as the Jets defense can be, they're not in the same league as the Seahawks defense. Aaron Rodgers and company need this one.
2. Dallas Cowboys
Similar to the Packers, there's no shame in losing Week 1. The Cowboys lost to the San Francisco 49ers, who have been to the last three consecutive NFC Championship games. The Cowboys, led by quarterback Tony Romo will face the Tennessee Titans.
The Titans had a nice victory against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, but the Cowboys need this one. If the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football, they will be 2-0. The Cowboys can't let the Eagles run away with the NFC East division.
3. New England Patriots
A frustrating Week 1 divisional loss to the Miami Dolphins has this team in last place in the AFC East. The Patriots offensive line didn't look very good without Logan Mankins, and their defensive line was horrendous. Running back Knowshon Moreno ran for 134 yards in Week 1 against the Patriots defense.
The Patriots face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2. Can their defensive line slow down Adrian Peterson on the road? The Patriots' vertical passing game is also coming into question, as well. Beginning the season with two road games can be tough.
4. New Orleans Saints
The Saints experienced a devastating Week 1 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Those two AFC South teams have a deep hatred for one another, so that game will be talked about for quite some time. Drew Brees played great, but a costly interception in the end zone cost the team seven points.
Regardless, it's time for the Saints to go marching in. They will face the Cleveland Browns in Week 2 with Brian Hoyer at quarterback for Cleveland. The Browns lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1. The Saints need to defeat the Browns and avoid falling to 0-2.
5. Washington Redskins
If the Redskins are truly going to compete this season, they have to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars next week. An embarrassing 17-6 loss against the Houston Texans brings up a lot of questions about Robert Griffin III and his health.
If the Redskins lose their Week 2 match-up against the Jaguars and fall to 0-2, their season is pretty much over.
