After a week with no releases, this weekend's box office will see a number of awards season contenders.

Additionally, it will see some sequels and one dramatic thriller in wide release. The following is a list of the new films coming to the marketplace.

From "Dolphin Tale 2" to Jessica Chastain's "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby" and more, this week's box office will be jam-packed with award-contending movies and Latin Post.com previews all of them:

Dolphin Tale 2

In 2011, Warner Bros scored one of its biggest hits with "Dolphin Tale." This year, the company will attempt to relive that magic with the upcoming sequel. The new film reunites Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman and tells the story of the team of people who saved the Dolphin, Winter's life, as they reassemble in the wake of her surrogate mother's passing in order to find her a companion so she can remain at the Clearwater Marine Hospital.

While the first film obtained rave reviews, this new one has not been screened for critics. Additionally marketing has been very low and the film is tracking to make $15 million, which would be $4 million below the original. Opening in 3,500 theaters, this upcoming installment should play to family audiences and fans of the original. However it is unlikely to gain new audiences.

No Good Deed

Starring Idris Elba, Taraji Henson, and Kate del Castillo, the Sony film tells the story of Terri, who is a devoted wife and mother of two, living an ideal suburban life in Atlanta. However, when Colin, a charming but dangerous escaped convict, shows up at her door claiming car trouble, she soon learns that no good deed goes unpunished as she finds herself fighting for survival when he invades her home and terrorizes her family. The new feature is tracking well among black and Hispanic audiences and could make 17 million. Opening in 2,000 theaters, this drama has not been screened for critics which could be a sign of its quality.

Atlas Shrugged Part III: Who Is John Galt?

After two installments, Atlas Entertainment will continue the "Atlas Shrugged" series. The third installment revolves around a nation's economic issue and a government that continues to exert its brutal force against the nation's most productive who are mysteriously vanishing. The last two films have flopped and scored horrible reviews. This new installment is opening in 240 theaters which is far less than the last two. With no reviews and no buzz, this installment is likely to fade out of theaters in no time.

The Drop

After a successful year Fox Searchlight will begin the Oscar season with "The Drop." Directed by Michael Roskam and starring Tom Hardy, James Gandolfini and Noomi Rapace, the film tells the story of Bob Saginowski who finds himself at the center of a robbery gone awry and entwined in an investigation that digs deep into the neighborhood's past.

The feature premiered at the Toronto Film Festival where it scored to positive reviews but did not get Oscar buzz. The feature currently has a 69 percent aggregate score and Fox is releasing the film in 500 theaters, which is a sign that it will most likely have a huge awards push. However, critics are raving about Gandolfini and after being snubbed last year for "Enough Said," the actor could be getting a posthumous nomination.

The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby

In 2013, Ned Benson's feature debut was one of the most talked about films as it was a two-part film. However, when the Weinstein Company acquired it, it was cut into one feature. That version premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to good reviews but many critics said it lacked the originality of the two-part version.

The latest version will be released this weekend to good reviews. Starring Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, William Hurt and Isabelle Huppert, the film tells the story of one couple's story as they try to reclaim the life and love they once knew and pick up the pieces of a past that may be too far gone.

Chastain is garnering rave reviews and there is a lot of Oscar buzz for her performance. However, it will be interesting to see how the company markets the feature especially when the two-part version will be released in a month.

The Skeleton Twins

The new Roadside Attractions feature starring Kristen Wiig, Luke Wilson and Bill Hader tells the story of two estranged twins who reunite with the possibility of mending their relationship after a number of years. The comedy won the Best Screenplay award at the Sundance Film Festival and has scored rave reviews. The film currently has a 92 percent aggregate score on Rotten Tomatoes and critics are saying that Wiig and Hader are charming. With a lot of awards buzz, this film will likely be a huge hit at the box office.

My Old Lady

Cohen Media Group will release the new drama about an American who inherits an apartment in Paris that comes with an unexpected resident. The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival where it scored mixed reviews. Starring Kristin Scott Thomas, Kevin Kline and Maggie Smith, "My Old Lady" should play well with art house crowds and older audiences.

Other releases include IFC Film's "Bird People," which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and Magnolia's "Honeymoon." Music Box will also release "The Green Prince," Strand will show "The Mystery of Happiness" and Well Go USA will release "The Pirates."
