Investigators Awaiting Toxicology Results From Utah Family Found Dead Alongside Mysterious Red Liquids, Sleeping Pills
Police say the deaths of the Utah family found dead in their home last month may not have been an accident. Search warrants obtained Wednesday say that the family was likely poisoned.
A couple and their three childrens' bodies were found in a locked room of their home with cups next to each of them and bottles of methadone and nighttime cold medicine in the trash can. Other medications were found in the garbage, including sleeping pills, marijuana and Pepsi cups filled with red liquids, Fox reports.
The bodies found at the Springville, Utah home were identified as Benjamin Strack, 37, his wife, Kristi, 36, and three of their children, Benson, 14, Emery, 12, and Zion, 11.
No reports on who killed the family or if the parents were responsible have been made. Toxicology results have not determined the cause of death as of yet. Full results are expected to come back in late November.
According to The Associated Press, Springville police Lt. Dave Caron said Wednesday he couldn't comment on the search warrant or speculate about the cause of death until he gets the results.
"Until I get those, I really don't have anything," he said. "Police by their nature, we want to go out and fix things or get to the bottom of things and this particular case we just now are at the point we've got everything done that we can do, and now it's just waiting for the results."
The parents, Benjamin and Kristi, were found with their children lying around them. Their older son and Kristi's mother found them.
A family spokesman has declined to reveal much about the family, and their family members declined to comment.
Benjamin's former boss said he worked off and on for six to seven years at a bricklaying company and had borrowed money in the past.
