NFL Monday Night Football Preview & Predictions: Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans (POLL)
In a Week 11 game has huge playoff implications in the AFC, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans will play each other on NFL Monday Night Football.
Both of these teams play in the AFC, but only one has a winning record. The Steelers are tied for first most wins in the AFC North, while the Titans have been playing terrible this year.
Let's see who has the edge in this game:
Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4)
It's been a roller coaster ride this season for the Steelers. Pittsburgh alternated wins and losses for the first seven games of the season and then went on a three-game win streak, beating the Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans. Unexpectedly, the Steelers lost to the New York Jets in last week.
All four teams in the AFC North currently have six wins, even the Cleveland Browns.
The Steelers offense has been the driving force this season. Their offense ranks No. 4 overall in yards and No. 6 overall in points. Despite the all-time great reputation of the steel curtain, the Steelers' defense ranks just 18th in points against. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been outstanding this season with 23 touchdowns and just five interceptions.
Le'Veon Bell has been the Steelers' leading back all season. Bell has a team-leading 747 rushing yards. Unfortunately, Bell has just one rushing touchdown this entire season. LeGarrette Blount hasn't got as many rushes as many fans thought, but he is averaging 4.1 yards per carry.
Amazingly, James Harrison leads the Steelers with four sacks. Wide receiver Antonio Brown has been playing incredible this season. The 26-year-old wide out has 1,070 receiving yards and eight touchdowns this season.
The Steelers have yet to lose consecutive games this season, and next week they get a bye.
Tennessee Titans (2-7)
It's been a pretty disappointing season for the Titans. At 2-7, the Titans don't have much of a chance at making the postseason. The Titans are in third place in the AFC South behind the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans. Only the Jacksonville Jaguars have a worst record in the division.
Former first-round pick quarterback Jake Locker hasn't performed up to expectations, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt has benched him. Titans quarterbacks have a combined 12 touchdowns this entire season thus far, and rank 28th overall in passing yards.
Without Kenny Britt, the Titans haven't found a reliable receiver. Kendall Wright and Delanie Walker just don't have an effective quarterback to throw them the ball. As a team, the Titans' offense ranks 30th overall.
The Titans have not made the playoffs since the 2008 season, when they went 13-3 with Jeff Fisher as their head coach. With the playoffs already out of the picture, the Titans are already looking at the NFL Draft and scouting reports.
The Titans play the Philadelphia Eagles next week.
Schedule, Where to Watch
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans will play each other on Monday night at 8:30 p.m. EST. The game will be played at LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee. The game will be shown on ESPN. Fans can view a live game stream here.
Predictions
The Titans will have home field advantage, but they are just 1-3 at home this season. The Steelers are coming off a really disappointing loss to the Jets, and it shouldn't happen again. Roethlisberger, Bell and Brown should easily be able to score enough points and get the victory on the road.
Steelers win 32-17
