Time Warner Cable was honored on Wednesday, October 2, in midtown Manhattan for their commitment to the Hispanic community at this year's Hispanic TV Summit.

The Hispanic TV Summit, now in its 11th year, is an annual session where companies and businesses that provide television programming to the Hispanic community meet, and reward excellence in television programming. The summit was presented by Broadcasting & Cable and Multimedia News, and the theme was "Exploring the Exploding Hispanic TV Business."

The telecommunication company, Time Warner Cable received the "Leadership in Hispanic TV" award, signifying the company's ongoing effort to provide quality content and influential media to, both, Latino and non-Latino audiences.

NY1 Noticias, a 24-hour Spanish-language cable news network that is seen throughout the New York City area, is owned by Time Warner. Noticias celebrated its tenth year this year, and features in-depth coverage of subjects and issues that concern those of Hispanic lineage in the NYC area.

Time Warner has made it their responsibility to offer Digital TV customers films which celebrates the Latino heritage and culture.

And, throughout the month of September, Hispanic Heritage Month, Time Warner featured a diverse range of Latino films, directors and actors, broadcasting at least a dozen movies that best captures the essence, existence and energy of Latinos.

Time Warner Cable, formally known as Warner Cable Communications -and formally owned by Time Warner, operates in 29 states, and has 31 divisions. The multi-billion dollar company's headquarter is in New York City, and it is the second largest U.S. cable company, tailing Comcast Cable, which happens to be last year's winner of the 'Leadership in Hispanic Television' award.

The Hispanic TV Summit also presented the '2013 Award for Outstanding Achievement in Hispanic Television,' and the award recipient was Maria Elena Salinas, co-anchor of Univision Network News and the co-anchor of Aqui y Ahora.
