NFL Fantasy Football 2014 Rankings, Sleepers & Week 14 Waiver Wire: Top 5 NFL Players to Pick Up This Week
Week 14 of the 2014 NFL Fantasy Football season is here.
As we all know, staying on top of your waiver wire is key to winning your Fantasy Football league. Options are becoming limited as the season winds down. The highest valued players are no longer available, and finding free agents to pick up are very difficult at this point in the season. This week, wide receivers are thriving in the waiver wire.
Here are five players you should consider signing off waiver wire for Week 14 of the 2014 NFL season:
1. LeGarrette Blount
It was a pretty disappointing and perplexing Week 13 for New England Patriots running back Fantasy owners. Jonas Gray has just one carry since rushing for 201 yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11. It appears as if head coach Bill Belichick prefers LeGarrette Blount, and you may want to pick him up for Week 14. So far with the Patriots, Blount has 22 carries for 136 yards. Blount and the Patriots face the San Diego Chargers next week on Sunday Night Football.
2. Greg Jennings
The former Green Bay Packers veteran wide receiver is playing good lately. Very quietly, Jennings has 546 receiving yards and four touchdowns on a Minnesota Vikings team that ranks 30th in passing yards this season, and has a rookie quarterback throwing the football. Jennings has battled a lot of injuries lately, but he actually leads the Vikings in receiving yards by nearly 200 more than the next player. More good news for fantasy owners, Jennings and the Vikings face the New York Jets next week at home.
3. Miles Austin
Another veteran wide receiver who has battled a lot of injuries in his career. The former Dallas Cowboys wide out is playing very well with the Cleveland Browns this year. Austin has 482 yards this season, including at least two receptions in every single game of the year. He's not a touchdown machine, but Austin can provide some relief for your fantasy team if you're having some wide receiver issues. In his last game against the Buffalo Bills, Austin had a season high seven catches for 86 yards.
4. Tre Mason
If you're having running back problems, St. Louis Rams runner Tre Mason could be a great addition. In a 52-0 blowout victory against the Oakland Raiders, Mason ran for a season high 117 yards and scored two touchdowns. The Rams will face the Washington Redskins next week. The Rams have had so many quarterback problems all season, you can bet Mason will get his fair share of carries going forward.
5. Kenny Stills
What a week it was for second-year wide receiver Kenny Stills. The former second-round pick from Oklahoma had a career day with five catches, 162 yards and a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road in Week 13. Stills now has 691 receiving yards this season, the most of any New Orleans Saints player. The Saints will host the 3-8-1 Carolina Panthers next week, and he's now a huge piece for this Saints offense. Catching balls from Drew Brees also helps things.
