Riccardo Tisci told Details magazine he "nearly got killed" for dressing Kim Kardashian at the time when most designers did not want to.

The Givenchy creative director said there was a point when nobody wanted to dress the reality TV star.

"And she's a sweet girl. And Kanye and me, we did it together," Tsici said.

"Every designer is dying to dress her now," he continued. "I didn't care what people thought about Kim. In the beginning, I met her because of my respect for Kanye, and then I liked her a lot and we became friends."

He added, "I got killed because of this. But I didn't care."

Now Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are a married couple, and Tisci dressed them for their wedding.

"They asked me to dress them," the designer said. "They say, 'You've always been with us. You've been a real friend.'"

Tisci once called Kim the modern day Marilyn Monroe after Kanye made the comment about his wife, Elle magazine reports.

"I just wanted a moment with her to understand -- and I fell in love," he said. "She's the Monroe of our age. People think she's like a doll, but actually she's tough and clever."

Kanye said in an interview with Power 105's Breakfast Club last year, "They are empowering us over Vanity Fair that want to say that Kate Upton is Marilyn Monroe. Kate Upton ain't Marilyn Monroe, Kim is Marilyn Monroe. You know that. She was controversial; she's controversial.

"This is the reality. I'm living inside of a dream world."

He also said, "[My] daughter is in a position of a level of royalty like the prince and princess in London."

Riccardo Tisci is the stylist for Kimye's daughter North West. He also designed the clothes for Jay Z and Kanye's 2011 "Watch the Throne" tour.
