The New England Patriots have a lot of big decisions to make this offseason.

They must first decide whether or not they want to bring back Darrelle Revis, which will automatically result in a $25 million cap hit if they do so. Notable players such as Stephen Gostkowski, Devin McCourty and Shane Vereen also have expiring contracts.

But, the Patriots are expected to be busy looking elsewhere for talent. According to multiple reports, the Patriots have shown a lot of interest in Percy Harvin. The Seattle Seahawks traded Harvin last season to the New York Jets before the NFL trade deadline because of team issues.

Harvin is still 26 years old, and the Jets may decide to release him to save salary cap space. Harvin is a valuable player who help teams because he is a good wide receiver and good special teams player. Harvin certainly has a questionable reputation as a teammate, but Bill Belichick and the Patriots could be the one team that can manage him, like they did with Randy Moss in 2007.

Although Tom Brady is arguably the best quarterback in the game today, Harvin could be a valuable asset. Julian Edelman is the team's best wide receiver, but he is a slot receiver with no realistic deep threat abilities. Brandon LaFell is the team's best pure wide out having 953 receiving yards and seven touchdowns last season. Harvin would definitely help stretch the field, and he's also a terrific runner out of the backfield with his blazing speed.

Then, there's Reggie Bush. The Detroit Lions decided to release Bush to save some money. The Patriots leading rusher last season, Jonas Gray, had just 412 yards on the ground. Half of those yards came in one game, and Gray hasn't seen much playing time since then. The Patriots second leading rusher, Shane Vereen, is set to become a free agent. LeGarrette Blount is now the starter, but he needs help.

With Blount running through the middle between the tackles, Bush could be the Patriots speed guy around the outside. Bush isn't viewed as a great power back, but he has eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark two of the last four seasons, and he will cost far less than Vereen will. On top of that, Bush has shown he is very well at adapting to new systems having helped the New Orleans Saints win a Super Bowl in 2009.

Bush is a very similar type of back to Vereen. He can catch passes out of the backfield and he is one of the best receiving backs in the league today. Unfortunately Bush did struggle because of an ankle injury last season.

As "MassLive" suggests, Vereen is looking for at least $5 million a year, and Josh McDaniels runs the best system for Bush. The Patriots are consistently year in and year out one of the best teams at using their running backs as pass catchers.

Both Bush and Harvin could each be valuable additions for the patriots this offseason pending Harvin does get cut and Bush is willing to play for less than Vereen. The patriots would definitely use players wisely and fit them into their system correctly, but only time will tell if both are available for the right price.
