Joe Giudice is doing a great job raising his family while wife Teresa Giudice fulfills her 15-month prison sentence for loan and bankruptcy fraud, ABC News reports.

In an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," Melissa Gorga, who is married to Teresa's brother, said Joe is taking care of his responsibility quite well.

"It's heavy on his heart. It's a lot," she said of Joe Giudice. "He's manning up. He's doing what he has to do."

Giudice will have to report to prison for three and a half years after his wife completes her sentence.

Gorga said her "Real Housewives of New Jersey" co-star Teresa is doing fine in prison and her mother-in-law continues to give her regular updates on Teresa Giudice, Us Weekly reports.

The reality TV star noted that Joe talks to his wife on the phone. Gorga also said that she had written her in prison.

Gorga almost cried when she said, "I pass him (Joe) in the morning, and he's driving the girls to school. And I usually pass Teresa every morning."

"It's heartwarming to see him. He's manning up, and he's doing what he has to do," she continued.

Teresa Giudice surrendered at the Federal Correction Institution in Danbury, Connecticut back in January, the AP reports, via Huffington Post.

"The last thing she said was, basically, 'Tell everybody I'll be fine,'" said attorney James Leonard. "She was very positive, very upbeat, in great spirits."

Last year, Giudice and her husband pled guilty to hiding assets from bankruptcy creditors and submitting fake loan applications for nearly $5 million in mortgages and construction loans.

Joe Giudice also failed to pay more than $200,000 in taxes.

"Teresa's only concern is and has been that of her four children," Leonard said. "I know that she was anxious to get in and get this entire nightmare behind her so that she can return home to her family."

The reality TV couple was given the option to split their time in prison so that they could each take care of their children.
