We're heading into the final stretch of the 2014-15 La Liga season.

As expected, Real Madrid and Barcelona lead the way at the top of the standings separated by just four points. These two clubs have won a combined 54 Spanish League Championships, so this comes as no surprise to soccer fans.

Barcelona currently sits in first place with a 24-2-4 record, giving them 77 points. It's been another incredible season for Lionel Messi who has a team-leading 33 goals and a league-high 15 assists this year. Messi's passing has been all-time great, as he continues to make the teammates around him better. Outside of Messi, Neymar shows no signs of slowing down, and Luis Suarez has scored a goal in his last three La Liga games.

Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has the lowest goals against average in the league this season. Bravo hasn't missed a single minute of action this year, and he will most likely be the first Chilean-born goalie to win the Roberto Zamora Trophy. It's truly been a remarkable season for Bravo.

Still, wise soccer fans know not to sleep on Real Madrid. Despite losing to Barcelona in the El Clasico earlier this month, they are always in contention to hoist the championship trophy. Real Madrid has their star Colombian middle fielder, James Rodriguez, back, and they've won three of their last four games.

Cristiano Ronaldo recently scored his 300th career goal for Real Madrid, and his 37th of the season. Ronaldo is back on track to possibly to break Messi's single season goal record. For him to do so, he would need to score 14 goals in the final eight games. As a team, Real Madrid is now 23-1-6 with 70 points. Barcelona may be on a hot streak, but Real Madrid isn't going down without a fight.

Real Madrid and Barcelona split games (1-1) this season, and they will not face each other again.

It's going to be tough, but Atletico Madrid is still in this. The last time we saw a repeat champion was 2009 and 2010 when Barcelona did so. As the defending champions, Atletico Madrid has every team in the league gunning for them. Atletico Madrid has just one loss in their last 12 games, a Week 23 defeat to Celta Vigo.

Atletico Madrid is 20-5-5 heading into the weekend with 65 points. They already swept Real Madrid (who they will play at the Champions League), but they will need some luck and Barcelona losses to win the league title again.
