In a recent interview with People, Shad "Bow Wow" Moss explained his decision to live with his fiancee "Love and Hip Hop" alum Erica Mena in his mother's basement.

Instead of finding his own place with Mena, Moss explained that he preferred living in the same house as his mother, Teresa Caldwell, because "it just makes sense."

"First of all the house is too big, but I want to make sure my mom is comfortable forever," he added.

Moss explained that living with his mother has not been an inconvenience because of how big the house is. He claims that he's had several house parties with one hundred people in attendance, and his mother had no clue what was going on downstairs.

"It's like I have a condo downstairs," Moss described the home, adding,"I've had 100 people there and my mom has been asleep and has never heard the music, screaming, laughter, or drinking. I mean full blown house parties downstairs while she is in the bed asleep. So I'm staying right here."

Given the big size of the house, Moss claims that he rarely bumps into his mother. He explained that he's gone days without seeing his mother because the house is so big. However, when he does want to catch up, he simply goes upstairs and says "What up, Mom."

Since discussing his living arrangements, social media users have taken to Twitter to slam Mena who recently made fun of her ex-girlfriend, Cyn Santana, for allegedly living in the same room as her mother and siblings, VH1 reports.

Among the social media users slamming Mena is her former "Love and Hip Hop" co-star Jhonni Blaze.

The backlash has prompted Moss to respond, Enstarz reports. Moss commented to a social media user on Instagram and clarified what he meant by saying he lived in a basement. According to Moss, his basement has three bedrooms, a full arcade room, two living rooms, a full kitchen, and a massage room.

So far, Erica Mena has not responded to the backlash.
