PS5, Next-Gen Xbox and Wii Concept Photos Released
It has only been a month after the release of the PS4 and the Xbox One but people at Voucher Codes Pro have already put together their very own rendition of the next generation game consoles - including the Wii.
"The design team here at www.VoucherCodesPro.co.uk have been creating some concept images of the future Xbox's and PlayStations, highlighting the most obvious features on both consoles, whilst taking into consideration the sorts of changes that have been made to the consoles over the years," the post read.
Basically, the next gen game consoles will reportedly rely heavily on a cloud service.
The PS5 is depicted as an 'angular and modular' game console the size of a hard drive. The console has a couple of built in Sony cameras and PlayStation's signature light blue color power indicator.
Voucher Codes Pro's idea of the future of PlayStation would have no use for a hard disk. As mentioned, the PS5 will instead rely on an online service to allow users to download the latest games and facilitate playing them online against other PS5 users.
MTV was able to ask PlayStation Software Product Development Head Scott Rohde regarding the company's plans for the next gen PlayStation.
"As soon as you launch a new console you have to take a breather, there's gonna be a couple of years where we're just enhancing this machine and making it as great as it can be," Rhode said.
"And of course very soon, we'll start thinking about what we'll do next. That's the culture at Sony. We always have to do something that's bigger and better than what's already been done," he added.
Concept image for Microsoft's Xbox was also released. The new design of the next gen Xbox adopted the familiar design of the current generation's KINECT combined with Xbox One's 'angular lines.'
Like the PS5 idea, the next gen Xbox would also be minus the hard disk although "the gamer would need an Xbox controller which communicates with a KINECT," says Voucher Codes Pro.
Finally, the Wii - or rather, the Wii remote is everything a gamer needs to play. "The Wii remote communicates directly with the nearest TV and is the only bit of equipment the customer needs in order to game - the disk drive is no longer required," the post said.
The Wii remote is characterized by tactile, semi-translucent rubber surface which is interactive - lighting up through LEDs when turned on and subtle ridges which serve as the buttons.
