'Street Fighter V' Demo Release Date Set in June
Fans of Capcom's highly anticipated "Street Fighter 5" title could finally get their hands on the upcoming game next month. Word is out that a demo version has been set for release in June.
A playable demo of "Street Fighter 5" would be accessible to fans at the upcoming Community Effort Orlando event in June. CEO 2015 is part of Capcom Pro Tour and it would be the first time the game developer has made a demo available to fans before the official game release.
The CPT is described on its site as the "premier league destination for competitive fighting games," which showcases the latest iteration from the Street Fighter franchise.
Capcom made the announcement via the live stream for its Combo Breaker Ultra Street Fighter 4 competition.
While not too many details about the upcoming title are known, Capcom has recently unveiled another character that would be included in "Street Fighter 5."
A new gameplay trailer showed Melvin Bison or M. Bison as he battles his opponent, Charlie Nash, displaying menacing and more aggressive moves that have made him a fan favorite over the years.
Originally called Vega in the Japanese version, M. Bison was last seen in "Street Fighter 2," reported Forbes. He played a major role in the iteration, as he was the "narrative impetus for many of the other characters in the series."
M. Bison is the fourth playable character to be revealed for the upcoming title. In December 2014, Charlie Nash was revealed to be part of the roster followed by Chun Li and Ryu.
Series producer Yoshinori Ono told Edge Magazine in April that the development team is designing the game to be totally unexpected and new to fans.
"With Street Fighter 5, we have a fantastic opportunity to create something with a larger scope, a game that encompasses all that Street Fighter has become in the last few years, but which also expands on that to become something it has never been before as well," said Ono.
He continued, "So now we want to create something that nobody is expecting. It's going to be a title hat caters to fans, of course, but one that also invites completely new players onto the scene."
While it is unclear what build the game would be on CEO 2015, whether it will be just a beta version or not, it is highly likely that Capcom would include all four characters revealed.
CEO 2015 will be held in Orlando, Florida, on June 26 to 28.
"Street Fighter 5" is set to hit the current latest generation PS4 and Xbox One consoles and PC in 2016.
