One Direction Break Up Rumors & News Update: Harry Styles Fighting with 1D Members Over Music Style
Harry Styles is in the mood for some edgier rock tune. The problem is, the rest of the 1D members don't seem to be so thrilled about it.
The Daily Star hinges on an alleged source 'close to the band' and says that Harry's and the rest of the members' ideas for their next album are clashing.
"He thinks their next album is the perfect time to create a much edgier and more rock 'n' roll image and he's already writing songs that he wants them to include on the record," the source said.
"The problem is the rest of the band fear if Harry starts changing their style he's going to take over the whole thing," the source added.
Specifically, Niall and Louis are reportedly very much worried. According to the source, the two are already on their toes at the thought of One Direction's change of genre.
One Direction's 'Midnight Memories' album is already a bit less pop-y in terms of music style but Harry seems to be looking for more change.
The source also said that Harry has been wanting the band to write the songs themselves and eventually ditch the songwriting team they've partly depended on for past albums.
Harry's hunger for independence and a break-free from the whole pop boy band thing is reportedly due to influences such as The Rolling Stones, Elton John and Rod Stewart. These stars have allegedly convinced the lad to get his game to the next level.
The source also added that Harry didn't want to still be doing boyish pop tunes after five years. Should One Direction continue in the pop music genre, Harry is most likely to fly solo and fulfill his dream of being a rock star.
Although the report has stirred Directioners far and wide, a source close to the situation told Gossip Cop that the Daily Mail reports are not true.
"[But] just like similar reports in the past about alleged band unrest and Styles going solo, there's no truth to it," says Gossip Cop.
