Apple continues to update its emojis to include more choices of the mini pictures that can be sent in messages.

Recently, the company added more diversity to the emojis by including more skin tones, but even with the updates, only 40 flags were available on the emoji keyboard. 

Quartz decided to create its own app that includes 208 flag choices. That is a flag for pretty much all of the countries in the world. The new Flags app includes all of these flags and labels them by country. It is a free download and thanks to Apple's support for these flags it will work in iOS 8.3.

The Flags app can be used for texting and it will be embedded right into the emoji keyboard. Over 200 flags will be listed in alphabetical order for easy access to each flag.

Recently used flags will be put at the top of the list on the keyboard. If users like to text a certain flag to their friends, it will be placed at the top of the list for easy finding, meaning it works in the same way as Apple's emojis. 

Quartz partnered with Emojipedia to create this app. Emojipedia is a website that explains every emoji in detail.

In order for the Flags app to work, users will need iOS 8.3, Apple's latest operating system. The recipients of the texts will also need either iOS 8.3 or the latest version of Android to see the flags.

Quartz decided to include all flags iOS 8.3 supports, even if the United Nations does not consider them a country. That is why there is 208 choices of flags.

The Flags app allows all of the countries that felt left out when Apple updated its emojis to be served.

This is the first app from Quartz, but the website said it might make more in the future.
