‘Street Fighter 5’ Characters & Trailer: New-Look Ken Revealed in New Teaser [Watch Video]
“Street Fighter 5” was featured in the much awaited 2015 San Diego Comic-Con International. Based on the information that Capcom revealed during its Hall H panel, the game will be showcasing a classic “Street Fighter” character who was featured in the game when it was first launched.
Capcom had recently launched an official “Street Fighter 5” trailer that was featured on Ryu’s main opponent/best friend, Ken Masters. As seen in the video clip, though, it would appear that Ken, in his return, is not the same fighter that “Street Fighter” gamers have somehow been accustomed to through the years.
Still images of Ken’s revamped look and new martial arts skills were posted on Game Rant.
Taking a look at the "Street Fighter 5" sneak peek, it would appear that Ken's playability will focus more on developing his own set of skills and abilities. His classic look was tweaked, limiting his signature red robes to his lower torso and keeping his blonde hair in a ponytail instead of having them falling freely on his shoulders.
The rumor mill has remained abuzz with rumors that other playing characters over the years will also be returning to “Street Fighter 5.”
According to Siliconera, Urien and Alex from “Street Fighter 3” will be among the new game’s playable characters as well. Plus, joining them will be R. Mika and Karin Kanzuki, two characters from “Street Fighter: Alpha 3.”
These four additional playable characters were not present in the past several installments. That said, it is only expected that loyal “Street Fighter” fans will be delighted to know that they are returning for “Street Fighter 5.”
Sadly, though, Xbox gamers will be missing the game after a representative from Capcom confirmed to Gamespot that “Street Fighter” will be launched exclusively on PC and PlayStation 4 consoles.
“I can say the relationship with Sony does open doors for things we have not been able to do in the past,” confirmed the Capcom rep. “The relationship serves a game play and development purpose, and not just a marketing value. One comment we see a lot is that something like ‘Super Street Fighter 5’ is going to come out on Xbox. But, the reality is that this is a real partnership. We are console-exclusive for this franchise for this numbered run.”
