'Frozen 2' Plot Spoilers: Next Film Will Challenge Anna & Elsa Even More, Says Director
It has been confirmed by none other than the directors of "Frozen 2" that the sequel to the 2013 mega-hit movie, "Frozen," is set to challenge Anna and Elsa even more, per MTV News.
Walt Disney Animation Studios announced their plans in March that a sequel to "Frozen" is in the works, as reported by Variety. According to the report, the announcement of the sequel "doesn’t come as much of a surprise," as the film has been topping box office sales since its release. Yet, the exact date of showing has not been officially released.
However, Directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, who are tasked to bring back the magic to millions of its fans, are up to the task and even shared that they already had an "overall" concept for "Frozen 2," MTV News reported. Buck and Lee are also confident that they would bring another exciting project with this plan they have in mind.
Buck teases that the second installment will still feature Queen Elsa and Princess Anna of Arendelle as the core of the plot, but they will also be a part of something so much more.
"We have two very strong female leads in 'Frozen.' We will keep that going in the next one. We will tackle other issues that, I think, are out there today that boys and girls, men and women, are dealing with," Buck said during a Disney screening of its short films on August 9.
With the movie's popularity, the directors know that aside from their role to entertain the audience, they also have the chance to enlighten the fans about the other important aspects in today's society.
"I think we're very aware of what is happening in society. I don't think any of us take [them] lightly, even though they can be very funny and entertaining, the messages that our movies have and the influence they can have on young people. When the kids [watch] them, they watch them over and over again, and if we don't have a decent message in there, I think we've missed an opportunity," Buck shared.
Meanwhile, Josh Gad, who will voice again the beloved snowman, Olaf, also heard beforehand what is in store for the viewers of "Frozen 2," and, he too, is excited. "The more I hear about it, the more excited I'm getting and I think it's going to be wonderful," Gad told ComingSoon.net.
With Buck's plot description, fans' anticipation might heighten. According to MTV News, Buck and Lee is currently in the early stages of development.
