Jeb Bush's Political Views on Immigration Reform, Gun Control, Same-Sex Marriage and Healthcare
Even as he has come to lag behind party rivals like Donald Trump, Ben Carson and the recently surging Carly Fiorina in Republican presidential primary polls, Bush has held firm to the policies he's long expressed.
Immigration
Jeb Bush's stance on immigration seems unwavering. So much so, the 2016 Republican presidential hopeful has recently begun utilizing his Mexican wife in a larger campaign role.
In a recently released video, Columba Bush shared the spotlight with her husband. She commented in English, as he spoke in Spanish, explaining his personal immigration views, which sharply differ from those of party front-runner Donald Trump.
As CNN reported, Bush recently commented on Trump, "He wants everyone deported, which would tear family lives asunder."
Labeling Trump's plan unconstitutional, Bush added, "It's not conservative and it's not realistic and it does not embrace American values."
Same-Sex Marriage
In the face of the Supreme Court's recent ruling on same-sex marriage, Bush reiterated he believes in traditional marriage, and he added justices should have allowed individual states to decide on the issue of gay marriage.
Gun Control
In the wake of the South Carolina church shooting that left nine dead at the hands of self-admitted white supremacist Dylan Roof, which prompted many to once again call for stricter gun laws, Bush re-emphasized he does not believe the answer to preventing such tragedies lies in penalizing innocent gun owners by changing the law.
"All of these tragic instances that have taken place in the last couple of years are heartbreaking," he said. "They really are. Not a single one of them would have been stopped with any of the ideas proposed by Barack Obama. Not a single one of them."
Healthcare
And in the Republican's seemingly never-ending push to repeal Obamacare, Bush also remains on board, once claiming the law is "flawed to its core."
