Saturday’s chance to make big money playing Powerball is here. The grand prize is currently at $267 million, with a cash value of $169 million.

Last Sunday’s winning numbers were 8, 29, 41, 51 and 58, and the Powerball was 5. There were 934,063 regular winners, and $11,383,236 in non-jackpot money was won.

There are actually nine ways to play Powerball. Though the odds will likely change in October, currently there is a 1 in 175,223,510 chance in winning the grand prize and a 1 in 5,153,632.65 chance in winning $1,000,000.

When the rules do change it will be easier for the average player to win an average prize, but harder to score the big money. The odds of winning the jackpot will become 1 in 292,201,338.

Powerball players are known for using various personal methods, such as birthdays and anniversaries, to help them choose the lucky numbers. Kevin Millard, a man from west Hollywood who just won $1 million, attributes his Powerball fortune to the pestering of an online psychic.

The 54-year-old winner was getting some psychic advice during a “free trial,” but once that was up he didn’t want to spring for the cash to continue. KTLA News reports that Millard's said,“She would hit me periodically with messages saying ‘Your money’s coming. This year is a change for you.’”

With those words in his head, he decided to play the lotto that he had recently been cutting back on, and ended up matching five out of six numbers. “I thought, ‘I gotta play a lottery ticket. Maybe she’s right,’” he said.

Millard is not sure yet how he will spend his money, but says, “I don’t want to squander it.”
