What fans of the hit CW show "Supernatural" already knew was that in all his young life, Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) never really fit in with his older brother Dean (Jensen Ackles) and his dad John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

So naturally, he created an imaginary friend when he was a child and all alone in all those motel rooms while John and Dean were out hunting demons.

Well now, according to Variety, that imaginary friend is back and he needs Sam's help. Suffice it to say that only in a TV series titled "Supernatural" can this be truly pulled off.

That character's name is Sully and he has been cast as Nate Torrence on the show. Fans may know Torrence from his work in the HBO comedy series "Hello Ladies" or in other works like "Weird Loners," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "Mr. Sunshine" or "Get Smart."

Torrence is scheduled to show up on episode 1108, which translates to Season 11, Episode 8. The episode will be both a flashback and a current storyline, given the character is from Sam's past and will also be returning to his future (current) for some sort of problem he needs help with.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Sam has had a rough-and-tumble kind of past as a young child and since he did not quite fit into the whole "hunter" side of the family business, his dad had chosen to leave him out of it.

But that doesn't mean that he wasn't exposed to the grittier side of the whole theme that played out before the series ever started. It was all evident way back when the pilot episode aired over 10 years ago.

"When I told dad I was scared of the thing in my closet, he gave me a .45!" Sam told Dean in the episode.

Be sure to check out Season 11 of the series, which premieres on the CW network on Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. EDT.
