'Far Cry Primal' Gameplay: New Ubisoft Game With Pre-Historic Setting Teased [Watch]
Ubisoft has definitely stirred the curiosity of their fans when they released a captivating video showing a vague trailer of an ice age concept that held on for hours.
According to Kotaku, a cave painting that has appeared on live-stream on Ubisoft's YouTube channel has been rolling without any other information on what it is for. It turns out, the video is an introduction for the upcoming video game "Far Cry Primal." Apparently, the whole setting will carry the concept of the medieval age, and, most probably, will carry the concept of using old and tribal combat style and weapons such as bows and spears.
Although there is no official statement that it is indeed a promotional video for "Far Cry: Primal," according to Wired, IGN Turkey already leaked some information about it, confirming that it is indeed a promotional video for "Far Cry Primal."
Without the supposed revelation, it was hard to tell what the video was for. Many anticipated it to be an introduction for a possible "Assassin's Creed" series or a whole new game that Ubisoft wanted to slowly introduce to their fans.
Kotaku, on the other hand, was not at all surprised by the occurrence as they have anticipated the medieval age to come soon. A source said that earlier this year, there were rumors that Ubisoft is planning on creating a "Far Cry" with an ancient concept, and, now, it has finally arrived.
PC Gamer made a review about the reveal. According to the news outlet, it's probably based on Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto," where everything else is set on the cave times. If this is indeed what the concept says, Kotaku's idea that it won't feature new-generation weapons might be true.
In "Far Cry 3," weapons were more specialized, but in the upcoming medieval style "Far Cry: Primal," things may turn out to be different from its earlier version. The live stream video slowly reveals things of the past that may be included in the game such as a rhino, medieval fire and an Aztec-looking caricature. The wait is not over, as Ubisoft is yet to make an announcement of the big reveal. Meantime, fans are left assuming which way the video will go.
