‘Street Fighter 5’ Updates: Data Miners Leak Secret DLC Cast, Ranking System & More Details
Once again, data miners have been doing their work in uncovering gaming details ahead of the release date. The "Street Fighter 5" is planning to beef up the battle roster after the launch with a DLC, and, now, the characters included have been leaked to the public.
A user from the forums of Shoryuken discovered the audio files that revealed interesting details about the upcoming game and the Capcom Pro Tour events all over the world.
The files included the character names of "Street Fighter 5," including the six characters that will be part of the post-launch content. While Capcom decided not to divulge the specific details, data miners managed to uncover the secret and confirm the following characters: Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri and Urien.
Capcom recently announced plans for the DLC in the official website saying, "In case you haven't heard, 'Street Fighter V' is moving away from doing large bundles of post launch content, such as our prior Super or Ultra upgrades, and instead will be continuously releasing new post launch content on a regular basis. No longer will you need to wait one or two years for new Street Fighter goodness; it will always be right around the corner."
"We have confirmed that we will be releasing 6 new characters post-launch in 2016, which will bring the total roster up to 22 characters by the beginning of 2017," the statement continued. "On average, we will release one new character every two months, provided everything stays on track with our development schedule. More specifics will be shared when our post-launch plans are confirmed."
Also included in the new date is the ranking system, a long list of 21 levels that goes from "Rookie" to "Hero" at the very top.
The Capcom blog recently unveiled a preview of the theme music for each of the characters in "Street Fighter 5." Music has always been a big part of establishing the fighters and the setting of the game, so the new soundtrack is a significant step in the development of the upcoming fighting title.
"Many of these songs are extremely iconic and we've done our best to remix them and update them for a new generation to enjoy," the official release stated.
It's a diverse mix from Birdie's light-hearted theme to Vega's epic beats. Music for the following characters is available at the official website: Cammy, Chun-Li, Karin, Mika, Nacalli and Rashid.
"Street Fighter 5" for PlayStation 4 and PC is set to be launched on Feb. 16.
