DC's ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ News: Constantine May Join Show as Regular in Season 2
There is an outstanding new rumor going around from reliable sources that John Constantine (Matt Ryan) could very likely be joining the CW's "Legends of Tomorrow" in their sophomore season as a series regular, but not likely in the main cast.
According to Comic Book, who sourced the rumor from Bleeding Cool, there will be a recurring role for Ryan on Season 2 of "Legends" which as been described as being a cast regular. Of course at this point, the news hasn't made it much further than the rumor stage, but it is said to be from a reliable insider source that has ties to the series.
There has also been talk that "Legends" will have a revolving door around the show and will be featuring drastic changes to the cast each season. This will occur as the various missions wrap up and new missions start to form. Of course that will involve new players for the task so it is not too unlikely that Constantine will be featured in Season 2.
The show has also been described to be modeled after the "Justice League Unlimited" cartoon, in terms of themes and playbook strategies.
What fans already know is that Ryan has reprised his role as Constantine already for an episode of "Arrow" on the CW. Of course that required a lot of bone crunching in order to just make that one appearance happen, but it still came through, much to fans delight.
These cross-network events have been something that is picking up steam, especially within the superhero universes. This is a DC property, so there is a lot of momentum for the character appearances to happen. It is something that fans really want to see and networks are starting to work together on it.
That may also include crossover events for "Supergirl" on CBS with "Flash" on the CW. That might be a little easier to pull off in the business world considering both networks are partially under the same umbrella.
