News broke last week that "The Hills" star Kristin Cavallari's brother Michael Cavallari had been missing since Thanksgiving weekend. Just recently, authorities released an update as to the status of their search and the latest results of their investigation.

Apparently, Michael is still missing, according to the latest press release by the Grand County Sheriff's Office in Utah on Dec. 5. According to the statement from their official website, the authorities were contacted last Nov. 27 about a vehicle approximately 100 feet off the Floy Wash Road and is just five miles south of exit 175 on I-70 in Grand County.

The vehicle, a 2014 Honda Civic, was found abandoned when the authorities responded to the scene.

"Information received from San Clemente law enforcement led investigators to believe the vehicle was driven by Michael Cavallari," the statement reads. "Credit card transaction receipts also led investigators to a convenience store in Monticello, Utah. Upon reviewing the security footage from the convenience store, the driver of the vehicle was positively identified as Michael Cavallari."

"We're combing the area for anything we can find," Grand County Sheriff Steven White told KSL. "We're deeming it suspicious, but there's nothing to indicate anything one way or another. The vehicle was just abandoned," White added.

Furthermore, E! News reports that fashion designer Kristin and Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler have yet to release their statements regarding the active missing person's investigation report released. Kristin and Jay recently welcomed their first daughter on Nov. 23.

People magazine reports that Kristin's last social media post on Nov. 29 showed that the former "Laguna Beach High School" star was absent from the show's reunion as she had to take care of her baby, Saylor James, with husband Cutler.

On an Instagram post, Kristin wrote, "Really sad about missing my 10 year high school reunion last night...so many people I wanted to see...but at least I have a good excuse," Kristin wrote on Instagram alongside the photo of her baby sleeping on her chest.

Meanwhile, authorities urge that anyone with information regarding Kristin's brother's whereabouts is asked to come forward to further help the case's development.

"At this time, the Grand County Sheriff's Office is handling this matter as an active missing person investigation. Anyone with information or knowledge of the whereabouts of Michael Cavallari is asked to contact the Grand County Sheriff's Office at 435-259-8115 or www.grandcountysheriff.org," the statement reads.
