With a wedding looming close, Snooki has announced a new addition to her growing family. Though rumors had been fluttering around about a new pregnancy, the MTV reality star did not confirm any of the news until now.

On Friday, Nicole Polizzi, otherwise known as Snooki, announced that she is pregnant with her second child. She and her fiancé Jionni LaValle are expecting their new child this fall, right before their wedding, according to the Los Angeles Times. Snooki made the news public in a lengthy blog post, explaining in detail what happened and their reasoning for keeping the pregnancy a secret until now.

"Jionni and I are so excited to confirm that we are expecting our second child! Now knowing that our test results are good and our baby is healthy, we can finally talk about it!" she begins, adding her disappointment over the news leaking before she was ready to tell the world.

"It's not that we want to keep it a secret, but we want to share our business at the right time. We want to make sure our testing is good and when we feel, as parents, is right to say we are expecting, that's when we do so!" she added. "Be sure that when I'm expecting my third child, I will not tell a soul for the privacy and protection of my family."

The reality star and her fiancé met during the filming of Jersey Shore and had been trying to get pregnant before their wedding, but to no avail. It was not until she went back on birth control, Polizzi explains to MTV, that she found out about her pregnancy.

"We wanted to have our second baby before our wedding, but it was taking forever," she tells MTV. "I went off birth control, but nothing happened, so of course once I started birth control again and we were done trying, we got pregnant!"
