Social Media Roundup: Gina Rodriguez, Kate del Castillo & Thalía Show Support For Fellow Latino Stars
The support among Latino celebrities wasn't in short supply this week. Several Latino television stars and music stars shared posts dedicated to their fellow Latino peers.
Gina Rodriguez showed some love for several Latinos stars. At the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors Gala, the "Jane The Virgin" actress took a selfie with actor and playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda, who she said she was still in awe about getting to spend time with.
"Still feeling on cloud nine from this past weekends #kennedycenterhonors with the awesome #linmanuelmiranda," she captioned the photo.
Rodriguez also took a group selfie with the iconic Rita Moreno and television personality and actress Rosie Perez as they celebrated Moreno's award at the Kennedy Center Honors Gala.
The three Latinas also celebrated their culture and shared Puerto Rican roots with a small Puerto Rican flag.
Rodriguez got some love from her "Jane The Virgin" costar Diane Guerrero. Guerrero posted a photo of her and Rodriguez together and congratulated her friend on her second Golden Globe nomination, which were announced on Dec. 10.
"Congrats to my dear friend @hereisgina on her #goldenglobe nomination for @cwjanethevirgin Working with you has been a dream #janeandlina," Guerrero captioned the post.
Actress Kate del Castillo shared a photo of the promotional image for Eva Longoria's new show "Telenovela" on her Instagram account and told her followers to watch her friend's new show.
On the show, which premieres on NBC on Jan. 4, Longoria stars as a telenovela star who fakes her way through scenes because she doesn't speak Spanish." Castillo is expected to make an appearance in the show.
Reggaeton stars Nicky Jam and Daddy Yankee both shared a meme on Instagram that featured both of the stars when they were younger.
The meme pokes fun of "El Perdón" singer's full smile and relates it to the friend that everyone has who loves posing for pictures.
On Dec. 10, music star Thalía reposted a post of photos of her and bachata star, Romeo Santos, performing together. The post was shared by Univision's award show account and was a throwback of when the two superstars got together on stage.
Both Thalía and Santos are nominated for awards at Premios lo Nuestro 2016.
