iOS 9.2 Jailbreak: Pangu is Working on a Jailbreak Tool for iOS 9.1 and iOS 9.2
Apple has released several updates to iOS 9, with iOS 9.0.1 and iOS 9.0.2 being minor updates and iOS 9.1 being a moderate update. iOS 9.2 is another minor update with mostly bug fixes.
With iOS 9.2, there still has not been a jailbreak tool since iOS 9. That could change as it looks like the Pangu jailbreak team is hard at work on a jailbreak tool for iOS 9.2, Gotta Be Mobile reports.
iOS 9.2 included small fixes and increased stability to the Safari browser and some security fixes. Pangu has been working on finding exploits and vulnerabilities in the iOS 9.2 betas and has been patiently waiting for the final version of iOS 9.2 to be released. Now that iOS 9.2 is finalized and available to the public, Pangu can work hard to hopefully finish up their jailbreak tool.
Pangu released the jailbreak tool for iOS 9 in October. This was surprising because iOS 9.1 was coming out about a month later. Pangu knew that Apple had patched up the exploits of the iOS 9 jailbreak tool in their iOS 9.1 beta, so Pangu wanted to get it out quickly.
The Pangu iOS 9 jailbreak tool still works for any version of iOS 9.0.x version, meaning iOS 9, iOS 9.0.1 and iOS 9.0.2. This means any one still on those old versions of iOS 9 can still jailbreak their device.
There might not be an iOS 9.1 jailbreak at all, or there could be one for both iOS 9.1 and iOS 9.2.
Pangu and TaiG are the two main jailbreak teams that have been successful developing jailbreak tools for previous versions of iOS. Pangu is the team that looks like it has figured out some exploits and vulnerabilities in iOS 9.1 and iOS 9.2, so it is more likely that they are the team that gets the credit for the jailbreak tool.
There is an iOS semi-jailbreak tool available for iOS 9.1, but it is not a full working jailbreak solution and is not recommended.
