More than 75,000 lbs of Tyson Foods' frozen white meat chicken nuggets are being recalled at Sam's Club locations around the nation.

Numerous consumers reported to the company that they found small pieces of plastic in the meat they had purchased and a number of the reports included incidents of minor oral injuries caused from consuming the nuggets, according to USA Today.

Tyson, the largest meat producer in the U.S., said Sam's Club, a division of Wal-Mart Stores, was the only retailer affected by the notice.

The company is recalling 5-lb "Tyson Fully Cooked Meat Chicken Nuggets that have a "Best if Used By" date of Jan. 26, 2015 or Feb. 16, 2015. The bags also contain the manufacturer codes "0264SDL0315 through 19" and "0474SDL0311 through 14."

Tyson is also recalling its 20-lb bulk packages of "Spare Time Fully Cooked Nugget-Shaped Chicken Breast Pattie Fritter w/Rib Meat" that have the codes of "0264SDL0315 through 19" and "0474SDL0311 through 14."

The Agriculture Department (USDA) said the small pieces of plastic got into the meat through a product scraper in the blending machine, USA Today reported.

The nuggets were produced on either Jan. 26 or Feb. 16 at one of the company's 40 chicken production facilities, according to the USDA and Tyson.

According to USA Today, the 20-lb packs were shipped to Indiana and Arkansas for institutional use.

This isn't the first time the meat manufacturer has been in hot water, however, as in late 2011 the Securities and Exchange Commission charged Tyson with violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act for paying off Mexican government veterinarians to certify its Mexican subsidiary's chicken products, according to the SEC.

Tyson de Mexico hid the transactions by placing the two veterinarians' wives on its payroll during their service for the company. The company paid the two $100,311.
