Aventura Reunion Shows Sold Out in 45 Minutes, New Shows Added
After their initial four reunion shows sold out under three hours, bachata group Aventura announced four more dates and sold those out within 45 minutes.
According to Billboard, the group added shows for their 2016 reunion after tickets for the original show's, set for Feb. 4, 5, 6 and 7, sold out in three hours.
On Dec. 11, on their Twitter account, the group shared the announcement that they would be adding four additional shows, by popular demand, after selling out the original shows.
"By popular demand we announce 4 additional shows. Tickets are on sale on https://ticketmaster.com," read the tweet.
Unfortunately, for those who wanted one of the 15, 000 tickets, they were all gone within 45 minutes after going on sale Dec. 11 at 2 p.m.
However, with such high demand from dedicated fans hoping for a chance to see the group before they break up for good, new shows were announced.
On Dec. 12, the group announced four additional shows on Feb. 18, 19, 20 and 21.
All of the groups shows will take place at the New York Palace Theater in New York City. The group's members are all of Dominican decent, except for Romeo Santos who is Dominican and Puerto Rican, and hail from The Bronx.
The group broke up in 2011 after becoming global bachata sensations and popularizing a new style of bachata that combined the traditional beat with urban and R&B sounds.
Aventura reunited in 2014 to join lead member Romeo Santos for a special performance at his sold out concert in Yankee Stadium in The Bronx.
This year, Santos once again earned the top Billboard Latin Artist of the Year spot thanks to his "Formula: Vol. 2" album.
