Ellie Goulding was recently spotted hanging out with a mystery guy on Sunday while out shopping for Christmas presents in London's Knightsbridge. The outing came after it was reported that the "Love Me Like You Do" singer have split with long-time boyfriend Dougie Poynter.

Daily Mail shared several photos of Goulding and her male companion walking with their hands inside their coat pockets. They reportedly spent some time talking and taking a stroll through Hyde Park before heading to the posh Harvey Nichols for some Christmas shopping.

Goulding dressed down for the outing sans makeup. She also wore her blonde hair loose. Dressed in a faux fur jacket, black jeans and trainers, the British singer appeared to be relaxed as she walked side-by-side with her male companion. The mystery guy also looked comfortable despite the cold weather in his scarf, thick coat and black jeans.

The pair's get-together came days after a source told Mirror UK that Goulding and Poynter have decided to cool off after 18 months together. It's believed their decision was caused by their busy work schedules. Goulding and the McFly bassist have reportedly been spending more time away from each other.

The source said the distance has finally caused a rift in their relationship; Goulding travelling around the world to promote her new album and Poynter staying in London for his modelling gigs.

"They are taking a break. Their work commitments have meant they have been spending more and more time away from each other and it has made it difficult to maintain their relationship. They've decided to have a temporary break to see if they can work things out," the source told Mirror UK earlier in December.

Goulding and Poynter have reportedly hit a "rough patch" in their relationship. The source added that both are very sad to see this happen. However, the source claimed they are "both trying to see if a little distance can help them get through it."

Following reports of the couple's decision to take a break, Goulding was spotted hanging out with rumored ex-boyfriend Niall Horan backstage at Kiss FM's Jingle Bell Ball in Dallas, Texas. The One Direction boys were among the performers at the annual event. A photo shared by Now Magazine shows Goulding and Horan all smiles as they posed together for the camera.

Goulding recently confirmed with the Daily Star that she is collaborating with Horan on a new song. The 28-year-old said she feels comfortable writing with a friend, and considered Horan as one of her buddies. Goulding added that she writes the best songs when it's done with someone she's comfortable with.
