The rumor mill is churning out new details about LG's upcoming flagship device, as well as other rumored devices from the Korean tech giant. A possible release date for LG G5 was also revealed.

Phone Arena, citing a South Korean website called Daum, noted that the LG G5's release date will likely be set in the second quarter of 2016. Particularly, the source speculated that the LG G5 will get an unveiling at some point in late April 2016.

If this release date timeframe for LG G5 is to be believed, it looks like the tech giant is set to follow its launch history for its flagship smartphones. The LG G4 was launched on April 28, 2015, while the LG G3 got a grand reveal on May 27, 2014.

As for the LG G5 specs, Phone Arena noted that it might be a metal device powered by Qualcomm's highly-talked about Snapdragon 820 chipset with Adreno 530 GPU. Latin Post previously reported about the phone's possible specs, citing the claims made by a tipster known as Zealer.

According to Zealer, cited on a Weibo poster, LG G5 specs will also include a 5.6-inch screen display boasting of a 1440x2560 pixels screen resolution. Earlier rumors also noted that the LG G5 might come with an iris scanning security technology, with the tech giant currently partnering with a biometrics company called Irience.

Furthermore, its primary camera might get a 21MP lens sensor while the selfie shooter will be 8MP. Comparing it to the current flagship, the LG G4 is equipped with 16MP primary lens sensor, GSM Arena noted.

LG G4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 418 GPU. The 2015 smartphone has a 5.5-inch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and running on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Meanwhile, as for rumors about other LG devices, Daum also noted that the LG G Flex 3 will be a no-show in the upcoming CES 2016 event. There's no news yet if the LG G Flex 3 was already completely removed from the lineup of upcoming devices.

Furthermore, LG V10 is reportedly getting a successor, as noted on the South Korean website too, cited on Phone Arena.
