Ronda Rousey has grown busy defending MMA fighting boyfriend Travis Browne almost as profusely as she does her near spotless UFC record.

According to the New York Post, Browne's checkered background includes accusations lodged by estranged wife Jenna Renee Webb he physically abused her. Not long ago, she posted a series of tweets and a July Instagram post that showed her with bruises she claimed came at his hands.

The UFC ultimately suspended him from competition, but a subsequent investigation concluded, "There was inconclusive evidence to support claims of alleged domestic violence."

Word is around that time Browne offered Rousey the out of breaking up with him in the name of protecting the household name she's made for herself.

"It's hard, it's really hard. I'm very anti-domestic violence," Rousey recently told ESPN. "But I know that he didn't do anything. Now I'm put in this situation where I'm finally happy with somebody that respects me and cares about me, and I'm like, 'What do I do?'"

In the end, the decision appears to have been a simple one for Rousey.

"At the end of the day, I can't curl up with people's opinions," she said.

"Even when everyone thinks the world of me, I still go to bed anxious and freaking out, because I'm afraid of everything. The only time I've gotten a reprieve from that [feeling] in my life is since I've been with him."

The 17-31-1 Browne has developed a reputation for being a fearless fighter in his own right. His style is described as one that is "striking" and boasting a "well-rounded ground game." It's all aided by a 6-foot-7, 255-pound frame that boasts an 80-inch reach.

Browne is also father to two young sons born to ex-wife Erin Browne. While the 28-year-old Rousey doesn't yet have any children, it appears the two may have partly bonded over family issues, given Rousey's father committed suicide when she was just 8 and Browne's father died from alcohol-related issues when Browne was 10.
