Nintendo announced new characters during the Nintendo Direct briefing dedicated to "Super Smash Bros." for Wii U and 3DS. The final presentation of the series focused on the upcoming roster additions as well as other significant DLC that will be released for the Nintendo favorite.

According to a report from GameSpot, Corrin from the "Fire Emblem" series was announced as an upcoming character that will drop on Wii U and 3DS in February 2016. Perhaps more significantly, the final DLC character for the series was confirmed by Nintendo during the Direct presentation as Bayonetta from the "Platinum Games" franchise.

Bayonetta has received her own games, most recently the "Bayonetta 2" for Wii U. The witch will be served well with a variety of gun attacks in "Super Smash Bros.", according to a report from Kotaku. Players can also look forward to her Witch Time, the ability to slow down the opponents she blocks.

As previously reported by Latin Post, Cloud from acclaimed "Final Fantasy 7" is also one of the new playable members of the Nintendo game. This characters is now available, as well as a new Midgar stage in "Super Smash Bros."

New characters aren't the only DLC that fans can look forward to in "Super Smash Bros.," GameSpot reported. There are more costumes for players that were revealed during the presentation including Geno from "Super Mario RPG," Chocobo Hat from "Final Fantasy," Bionic Armor, Takamaru, Ashley from "Wario Ware," Gil from the "Tower of Druaga" and Tails and Knuckles from "Sonic."

The popular Amiibo figures have also been announced as available on sale by March 18, 2016. Part of this roster are Ryu, Roy and Famicom ROB color variation. In the future, the recently announced characters Bayonetta, Corrin and Cloud will also be getting Amiibo figures.

During an interview in the "Making of Fire Emblem: 25 Years of Development Secrets," Masahiro Sakurai revealed he did not expect many more content to come, a report from Source Gaming said. When asked if the "Fire Emblem" series will be part of the illustrious "Super Smash Bros." cast, he answered, "I don't know whether Fire Emblem will have many more games in the future, but it's not as if we have a stipulation that says, 'We have to include the protagonist of the next Fire Emblem game.' Moreover, we don't even know if there'll be another Smash game."

Sakurai added, "Well, DLC is coming to an end soon, too, y'know."
