Costume designer Janie Bryant revealed that she was inspired by several Latin-American superstars, particularly Jennifer Lopez, when it came time to design costumes for NBC's latest comedy "Telenovela."

In an interview with People, Bryant, who designed for several shows like "Deadwood" and "Mad Men," revealed what and who inspired her when choosing how to dress the show's star Eva Longoria.

In "Telenovela," which officially premieres on Jan. 4, 2016, Longoria plays Ana Sofia, a telenovela actress who secretly doesn't speak Spanish.

To dress Longoria, Bryant tapped into the many stylish, iconic and sexy looks worn by Lopez to style Longoria in low cut gowns, sequined dresses and glamorous swimwear.

"For Ana Sofia, I was inspired by Jennifer Lopez, and also I was looking at a lot of fashion magazines from Mexico and Spain to be more specific and get that real authenticity of the culture," she said.

"That's really important, that it feel authentic to all the characters. Ana Sofia really possesses a chicness and a modern elegance, a sensuality and sexiness."

To get more inspiration, for a show that is filled with plenty of drama, the designer looked at several popular telenovelas and watched shows like the "Housewives of Miami."

As for the men of the show, Bryant revealed she looked at music superstars like Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony and Enrique Iglesias for inspiration, particularly to dress Jencarlos Canela's character Xavier Castillo.

Bryant also explained that Longoria, who she described as "an incredible business woman," has been a pleasure to work with and was also invested in the design process.

"We talked about gowns, the drama, the glitz, the glamour, the statement necklaces, the huge earrings, the high heels, and everything that shines and sparkles. Eva and I have a lot of those things in common. We love glamour, so it was really fun," she said about their collaboration.

Longoria knows a thing or two about fashion. Besides being on most best dressed lists, she also happens to be close friend's with designer Victoria Beckham, who she recently turned up to support at Beckham's store in Dover street, reported Daily Mail.
