Square Enix's Head of Product Development and Western Studios Darrell Gallagher bids farewell to his position at Crystal Dynamics, according to TombRaider.

The Square Enix executive is expected to leave his post in the company at the end of the year after 10 successful years of leadership. Under his supervision, the games "Rise of the Tomb Raider," Lara Croft Go," "Just Cause 3" and "Life is Strange" were created. There's no doubt that there were successful blockbuster games under his mandate, and that's why the company only wishes him well on his journey outside Square Enix.

Next year, there are also some game lineups scheduled to be released under his supervision including "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" and "Hitman."

Before he was hailed as Square Enix's Head of Product Development, Gallagher was the Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics, a Square Enix subsidiary. There, he supervised other successful games including the "Tomb raider" reboot.

In a statement released by Crystal Dynamics' western CEO Phil Rogers regarding Gallagher's departure, Rogers said, "Today Darrell Gallagher announced that he is moving on from Square Enix at the end of this year. Darrell became head of Crystal Dynamics back in 2009, led that studio to reboot the 'Tomb Raider' franchise, and for the last [three] years he has led our western studios.  I want to thank him for his tremendous effort and contribution to Square Enix, along with the amazing entertainment he has helped create.  I am sad to see him go but respect his decision and we should all celebrate the sheer blood, sweat and tears he has put into our company over the last 10 years! We are excited for him and his family on their next chapter. We wish them the best of luck in the future."

Gallagher's departure will be filled by two people, who will serve as co-studio heads at Crystal Dynamics. Scot Amos has been working with Crystal Dynamics for over five years, and prior to his appointment as one of the new co-studio heads, he was the executive producer of "Rise of the Tomb Raider." Working for the industry for over 24 years, Amos was formerly employed to EA's Visceral and Maxis Studio.

Ron Rosenberg, on the other hand, has worked for Crystal Dynamics since 2009, and his dream at that time is to be able to contribute to the "Tomb Raider" game. The tremendous effort of Gallagher in helping Crystal Dynamics has been highly praised by the company.
