Third time's the charm for actress Gabourey Sidibe, who will be making her way back to "American Horror Story" in January.

In a newly released promo video for her upcoming appearance on "AHS: Hotel," Sidibe is seen entering the hotel with a suitcase.

"Hey, either of you all work here?" she says in the video to Liz Taylor (Denis O'Hare) and Iris (Kathy Bates).

Sidibe previously appeared on "American Horror Story: Coven" as Queenie and "American Horror Story: Freak Show" as Regina Ross. Even though Sidibe is dressed just like her character Queenie in the promo, the full details of her return and who she will be playing have yet to be revealed.

The actress confirmed the news of her return by re-tweeting a fan and adding the caption, "Surprise! #AHSHotel #CheckingIn."

During a panel discussion in July, show creator Ryan Murphy teased that characters from the past would appear on "AHS: Hotel."

"Characters from previous seasons will come back and check into the hotel," Murphy said.

This move to bring back old characters is being done in an effort to connect all the seasons. All of the seasons do appear disconnected, but everything will come together and make sense by the end of the series, according to Murphy.

Christine Estabrook, who played the real estate agent that sold the haunted house to the Harmons in Season 1, appeared in two episodes of "Hotel." While Sarah Paulson is set to reprise her "AHS: Murder House" role of psychic medium Billie Dean Howard for the show's finale.

Sidibe's stint on "American Horror Story: Hotel" will likely be short, as she is currently starring on Fox's "Empire."

"American Horror Story: Hotel" returns Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016 at 10 p.m. on FX.
