It's a mini hamburger, a small treat served for a quick bite. It's called a slider, and it's a popular item at Applebee's.

What happened when a Albuquerque, N.M. woman was enjoying her sliders was not what Applebee's wants their customers to experience.

Diana Almarez and her sister were enjoying a meal Sunday at the restaurant when Diana noticed her sister reacting strangely after taking a bite into her slider.

"She bit into it and got a funny look on her face and we said what's wrong?" Almarez said. "As she kind of pulled the slider out of her mouth a little bit, there was this bolt."

The bolt was actually embedded in the meat of the tiny burger. Almarez and her sister called the waiter over and also asked for a manager.

A manager wasn't available but the sisters were told their meal would be free.

Before leaving the restaurant the sisters noticed the table next to them also ordered some sliders. She was worried that all the slider meat could have foreign objects in it.

"I think they should have stopped selling the slider meat right then and there until they figure out where it came from, find out who processed the hamburger," Almarez said.

A spokesperson for Applebee's is happy the customer is safe and says the company will investigate how the bolt got into the meat.
