Those who complain about the corruption of the American justice system (and make no mistake, it is corrupt) should be grateful they live in America, and not in Pakistan. A spotlight is being shined on Pakistan's corrupt justice system -- and police force -- in the most egregious way: a nine-month-old baby is currently on the lam after being charged with attempted murder.

Sounding like a ripoff of The Simpsons -- when Maggie shoots Mr. Burns -- nine-month-old Musa Khan is currently in hiding after being charged with attempted murder. According to The New York Daily News, Khan -- along with his father and grandfather -- was arrested during a protest against gas cuts and increasing prices. Someone in the crowd stoned police and gas company workers who were trying to collect overdue bills, and they arrested the baby, father, and grandfather.

"Police are vindictive. Now they are trying to settle the issue on personal grounds, that's why I sent my grandson to Faisalabad for protection," the baby's grandfather, Muhammad Yasin, told Reuters, referring to a central Pakistani city.

Furthermore, according to Slate, the baby reacted the way a normal baby would react in an unfamiliar situation: he cried while being fingerprinted, sucked on a bottle of milk, and tried to grab at the microphones of the press people who were trying to talk to his grandfather during this travesty of justice.

However, thanks to the worldwide media coverage of this travesty, as well as the "head-slapping" both in Pakistan and in other parts of the world, the officer who arrested and processed the baby has been suspended without pay, and the case is currently being "investigated." It's not clear whether the charges against the baby will be dropped or not.

Say what you will about the American justice system, but this would NEVER happen, no matter how racist or corrupt it is.
