Ariana Grande Releases Surprise Christmas EP
Ariana Grande has released her surprise Christmas EP titled "Christmas & Chill."
The 22-year-old "Focus" singer's new festive holiday collection includes six tracks, which were written and recorded in a week, according to Rolling Stone.
"Twas a long, productive slumber party," Grande wrote on Twitter referring the process of creating the album.
The songs on the album, which include "Intro," "Wit It This Christmas," "December," "Not Just On Christmas," "True Love" and "Winter Things," feature Grande singing romantic Christmas ballads over trap beats.
"Merry Christmas, here I am, boy," she sings on "December." "Gonna love you, gonna give you what I can, boy."
The last track "Winter Things" on the EP stands apart from the rest of the songs due to its folky nature. Grande sings, "My baby's in town, and we're gonna do some winter things."
Grande released her last Christmas EP in 2013 with "Christmas Kisses," which featured covers of "Santa Baby" and Wham!'s "Last Christmas," with three original tracks as well.
"Christmas & Chill" is now available on iTunes and is streaming on Spotify.
The singer released her last album, "My Everything," in 2014. The album, which topped the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, produced the singles "Problem" featuring Iggy Azalea, "Break Free" featuring Zedd, "Bang Bang" featuring Nicki Minaj and Jessie J, "Love Me Harder" featuring The Weeknd and "One Last Time."
Grande released her last single "Focus" in October, which will be featured on her upcoming third album, "Moonlight" due next year.
This year the singer also starred on the Fox show "Scream Queens," which was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Additional stars in the show include Emma Roberts, Skyler Samuels, Lea Michele, Glen Powell, Diego Boneta, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Nasim Pedrad, Lucien Laviscount, Oliver Hudson, Billie Lourd and Jamie Lee Curtis.
